In Case of a Breakdown:

  1. Move to Safety:
    • If possible, slowly and carefully move the vehicle and trailer to the side of the road, away from traffic.
    • Activate your hazard lights to alert other drivers.
  2. Assess the Situation:
    • Determine the cause of the breakdown, if safely possible (e.g., flat tire, engine issues).
    • Avoid attempting repairs if you're not knowledgeable or if it's unsafe.
  3. Call for Assistance:
    • Contact Empire Trailer Hire immediately at 0480 375 450.
    • If you are unable to reach us, call NRMA Roadside Assistance directly at 13 11 22.
    • All trailers from Empire Trailer Hire come with roadside assistance provided by NRMA.
  4. Stay Safe While Waiting:
    • Remain inside the vehicle if it's safe, especially if you're on a busy road.
    • If you must exit the vehicle, do so from the side away from traffic.

In Case of an Accident:

  1. Check for Injuries:
    • Ensure that everyone involved in the accident is okay. Call emergency services immediately if anyone is injured.
  2. Move to a Safe Location:
    • If the vehicles are operable and it's safe, move them to the side of the road to avoid blocking traffic.
  3. Exchange Information and Contact Empire Trailer Hire:
    • Exchange contact and insurance information with the other party/parties involved.
    • Take photos of the accident scene and any damages for insurance purposes.
    • Notify Empire Trailer Hire at 0480 375 450 as soon as possible.
  4. Report the Accident:
    • Depending on the severity, you may need to report the accident to the police.
    • Notify your insurance company as soon as possible.
  5. Wait for Assistance:
    • Wait for the police or emergency services to arrive if needed.
    • Do not leave the scene of the accident until it's appropriate.

In Other Emergencies (Fire, Severe Weather, etc.):

  1. Assess the Situation:
    • Quickly determine the nature of the emergency (fire, severe weather, etc.).
    • If there's an immediate danger, prioritize safety and evacuation.
  2. Call for Help:
    • Contact emergency services if the situation is beyond your control and requires professional assistance.
  3. Take Safety Measures:
    • If it's a fire and you have an extinguisher, use it only if it's safe.
    • In severe weather, seek shelter in a sturdy building or low-lying area if outdoors.
  4. Stay Informed:
    • Listen to local news or weather updates on a mobile device or radio.
    • Follow any instructions provided by local authorities or emergency services.
